You’re Not Imagining It — Education Needs to Change. And You’re Not Alone.

If you’ve ever felt the tension between what students need and what the system demands… welcome. You’ve found your people.

Hey, I’m Amy!

I’ve been the teacher crying during recess while shoving leftovers in my face.

The one sneaking in a bathroom break like it’s a covert mission.

The one who cares too much and gets crushed under it.

I’ve taught everything from grade 1/2 chaos to grade 7/8 magic. I’ve run EdCamps, built teacher communities, and am teaching at the university level. I know what it means to love this work and still feel like it’s slowly eating your soul.

That’s why I built this space—for teachers like us who are done suffering silently and ready to shift into something better.

A woman with gray hair and glasses smiling, wearing a green cardigan with white stripes on the sleeve, sitting in front of a whiteboard with a pineapple drawing.

You’ve always known teaching is about more than standards and scores.

You feel it every day:

The pressure. The misalignment. The constant push to do more with less… while knowing deep down that kids deserve something different.

And maybe you’ve wondered:

  • “Why are we still doing school this way?”

  • “Why aren’t relationships the center of everything?”

  • “Why don’t we trust teachers as the professionals we are?”

  • “Why aren’t we preparing students to navigate a fast-changing world?”

You’re not wrong for asking these questions.

You’re actually ahead of the curve.

The Future You Believe In

Because you want students to become whole humans — not just good test-takers.

You imagine a world where students grow into:

  • Self-aware, emotionally intelligent humans

  • Active citizens who question, challenge, and contribute

  • Adaptable learners who thrive in change

  • Curious thinkers who take ownership of their learning

And you want to teach in a system that:

  • Trusts you

  • Supports you

  • Values relationships over compliance

  • Honors student voice and agency

If this is the future you believe in… you’re already one of us.

What You’ll Find Here

This space helps you put language to what you’ve been sensing — and back it with research.

âś… A tribe that makes you feel less alone in wanting more for kids

This isn’t about piling more onto your plate.

It’s about giving you clarity, connection, and confidence.

Is This You?

You belong here if:

  • You know the current system doesn’t serve every child.

  • You want language to describe what needs to change.

  • You crave a more relational, human approach to learning.

  • You value student agency and want to do more of it.

  • You want to understand the research behind great teaching.

You’re Not Broken. The System Is.

You care deeply. You want to do this well. You’re willing to try new things even when they scare the crap out of you.

You just need someone who gets it to show you how.

That’s what this space is.

She is wearing a denim jacket with several pins and buttons, including one rainbow pride flag, one that says "Love," and others with various messages.
